Indigenous Visioning is proud to present INDIGEBOX - an educational subscription box for early childhood classrooms (child care, preschool, Head Start) filled with early learning tools that will benefit programs serving American Indian children. The Spring INDIGEBOX is specific to Ojibwe values and customs. However, we are in the process of creating subscription boxes to include more indigenous communities in the near future.
What is INDIGEBOX?
INDIGEBOX is a seasonal subscription that is available four times a year - spring, summer, winter, and fall.
INDIGEBOX is a wonderful resource that will allow teachers and their students to explore the Ojibwe values and customs.
Each box will include:
- A minimum of four Activity Pages related to the seasonal theme
- A variety of materials that can be used with the lesson activities
- A book or CD
- An indigenous art item
- A teacher appreciation gift
- A functional and resourceful magazine
Activity Pages
The Activity Pages were developed to assist the teacher in adding a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to their lesson plans. Each Activity Page is geared toward a developmental subject such as literacy, math, science, art and other early learning content areas. The pages include instructions and materials needed for the activity along with developmental outcomes that are based on the Teaching Strategies Gold Observation and Assessment Tool. Each Activity Page also has a few open ended “teacher prompts” that the teacher can use to further engage the children and encourage critical thinking skills.
Some materials for the activities will be provided in the INDIGEBOX.
Activity Pages are geared toward preschool aged children but can easily be adapted to younger or older age groups.
How the Subscription Works
You must subscribe on an annual basis. You may pay $75.00 on a quarterly basis or pay up front for the entire year at $270 (a savings of $30). **Shipping is not included in the overall price and will be an additional cost each quarter.**
Indigenous Visioning will be taking orders for our spring INDIGEBOX on the Indigenous Visioning website. We will be creating a maximum of 50 boxes on a first-come, first-serve basis (only for the spring subscription). For any orders after the first 50 subscriptions, you will be placed on a waiting list for the Summer INDIGEBOX distribution.
Orders for the Spring INDIGEBOX will be taken during the period of January 15 to February 15th, 2021 and will be shipped during the last week in February.
