SUMMER INDIGEBOX INFORMATION COMING SOON
Indigenous Visioning is proud to present INDIGEBOX - an educational subscription box for early childhood classrooms (child care, preschool, Head Start) filled with early learning tools that will benefit programs serving American Indian children. The Spring INDIGEBOX is specific to Ojibwe values and customs. However, we are in the process of creating subscription boxes to include more indigenous communities in the near future.
What is INDIGEBOX?
INDIGEBOX is a wonderful resource that will allow teachers and their students to explore Ojibwe values and customs in a classroom setting complete with lesson activities that meet early childhood criteria INDIGEBOX is offered four (4) times a year and shipped out on a quarterly basis. There are a limited number of INDIGEBOX subscriptions available (at this time). Spring orders will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each box will include:
-A minimum of four Activity Pages related to the seasonal theme
-A variety of materials that can be used with the lesson activities
-A book or CD
-An indigenous art item
-A teacher appreciation gift
-A functional and resourceful magazine
Activity Pages
The Activity Pages were developed to assist the teacher in adding a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to their lesson plans. Each Activity Page is geared toward a developmental subject such as literacy, math, science, art and other early learning content areas. The pages include instructions and materials needed for the activity along with developmental outcomes that are based on the Teaching Strategies Gold Observation and Assessment Tool.
Each Activity Page also has a few open ended “teacher prompts” that the teacher can use to further engage the children and encourage critical thinking skills. Some materials for the activities will be provided in the INDIGEBOX. Activity Pages are geared toward preschool aged children but can easily be adapted to younger or older age groups.
How to Subscribe and Pricing
The first INDIGEBOX offered (spring) will not come with a subscription option; we will begin offering subscriptions with our Summer INDIGEBOX. From there, you can subscribe on a quarterly, yearly or bi-yearly basis. Each INDIGEBOX is $75 every quarter with shipping not included in the overall cost. When we begin offering subscriptions next quarter, we will offer special packages for different subscription options.
When to Order
Indigenous Visioning will be creating a maximum of 50 boxes on a first-come, first-serve basis (only for the spring subscription). For any orders after the first 50 subscriptions, you will be placed on a waiting list for the Summer INDIGEBOX distribution. Orders for the Spring INDIGEBOX will be taken during the period of January 15 to February 15, 2021 and will be shipped during the last week in February. To order, please fill out the form below.
