INDIGENOUS
FAMILY, FRIEND & NEIGHBOR
CHILD CARE NETWORK

Who are indigenous FFN childcare providers?

These are providers who are not licensed and care for children while their parents work or attend school. They may be aunties, uncles, grandparents, family friends, or neighbors. They have no legal obligation to the children; but provide care out of love. They can be paid or unpaid; but cannot be living full-time with the children they care for.

Where do they reside?

We serve indigenous FFN unlicensed providers in Minnesota; specifically in the urban communities of Minneapolis/St. Paul and Duluth; as well as rural areas such as all 11 tribes of Minnesota. If there is another FFN Program that may best serve you; We can point you in the right direction.

How do we serve our FFNs?

Indigenous Visioning/All Nations Rise aims to provide outreach, training, educational and cultural resources and referrals that will support indigenous family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) childcare providers to improve the health and safety, child development, literacy, social/emotional, school readiness, and cultural needs of the FFNs and the children they care for.

We also strive to become an advocate and navigators to assist interested FFN’s in becoming legally un-licensed or licensed childcare providers.

We provide opportunities for networking with other indigenous FFN providers through periodic meetings, socializations, and events.

We partner with other agencies with similar and complimentary goals and visions to provide services that are beneficial for the kids and providers/parents we serve.

Mini-grants available to FFN’s: The Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Member Portal is available for FFN childcare proviers who are interested in applying for FFN grants, participating in training, and having access to helpful resources.
